Surprisingly, when coming back from lunch onto the base where I work, one security guard was telling his buddy about my 968 -- without the benefit of seeing the number on the back. Aside from one guy in my neighborhood who used to own a 944S2, I haven't run into too many people who know anything about 968s.
I guess we're a rare enough breed, that some individuals do take notice of us. I was on my way back from a recent autox, when a guy and a girl in a VW made it a point to pull up next to me, open the window and mouth "nice 968". I too was surprised, I have no 968 badge on my car for them to know what it is. I drove with my chest pumped out just a bit the rest of the way home.
