My 1994 Porsche 968 Coupe, with 15,068 miles on the odometer, was sold to a gentleman from Kansas City. I picked up at the Airport on Monday, we had lunch and I gave him a garage tour. He requested we replace the Saratoga Top with the original roof, due to his long trip. He drove to New York State from here and then left for KC on Wednesday. Assume he will be home today or Saturday. He plans to give the 968 to his son.
Was not easy giving up my "garage queen" but family comes first.

Don - that must have been tough.
Gave it to his son. What about me? Lol Don I know that your heart must be broken to give up such a sweet cherry ride but hopefully you got your price. Now what goes in its place in your garage!!
Congratulations! I know you wanted to sell and I am glad it went smooth for you. What a beautiful car you had I loved it and no delamination on the hatch that is really rare! Hope you got your price and it didn't break your heart to much. Were did you find the buyer on the internet? Best of every thing in the future.
I live in the KC area, perhaps I'll see it on the road. It should be easy to spot!
Don, we will miss your presence at 968 events (if there are anymore). You have been a gear advocate for the 968. I still remember the first Celebration at Hershey. Keep in touch.
Kim, yeah it is tough seeing another car in the place formerly reserved for the 968.
Rap, did get the price I wanted, my Daughter-in-Law's Fiat convertible is now in the 968's spot, safe from winter.
Hot968, had about 25 inquiries about the car, based on seeing that it was going to be put on sale, posted on the 3 main 968 websites.
WJH, new owner just emailed me and he is back in Kansas. He said the car "performed flawlessly" and he plans on giving her the beauty treatment that she is used to.
Cosimo, yeah we had a good run from 2001 to 2004 with 183 968s traveling to Hershey for my 968 Celebrations. The 2005 968 Celebration in the Capital (hosted by you and Randi) was a great success with 26 968s attending. Jay and Pete hosted the 2006 968 Celebration in Newtown, which was also a success (loved the fun run with my front bumper almost touching Rap's back bumper for 50 miles - lol). I came out of retirement in 2007 and hosted 1 Celebration (2 days) and 2 Gatherings in 2008 and 2009 (1 day) in Hershey with 115 968s attending. My 968 Celebration records indicate that Cosimo attended every one of them! Never did hit my goal of 100 968s at one event but did have Matt Drendel's famous 1992 968 Turbo RS attend the 2007 Celebration. As you may know, Matt passed on at age 45 and his car was sold at auction for $325,000!
It has been great getting to know all of you guys and gals who love the Porsche 968 as much as I do. I wish you all the best of luck with your cars.
Tell the new owner to visit us at KCWS.ORG. This is our local KC wrenching board with several 968 owners. He'll get a good welcome there.
Don, unless you have received a total blood transfusion, you must still have Porsche 968 blood coursing through your veins. One would hope we would still see you at Hershey!
Scott, will pass info about KCWS.org to new owner. Rap, yeah since I live 10 minutes away from the Swap Meet I will probably be there but won't be looking for 968 parts anymore - lol! You cannot just walk away from 12 years of interfacing with other 968 guys and gals who have become your friends. Look forward to seeing many of you next April.
So Don, inquiring minds want to know, how much does a mint condition 968 bring? Hopefully you have set a new record for NA 968s (assuming you didn't exceed $325k).
Jay
