I am attempting to install a Lotus Elise (Porbax) seat into 968.
It should be ready in a week.
still can't believe that car hasn't made it to my place yet
Now, it definitely gives better support as Alcantara insert with additional padded sponge is fitted to the seat.
The steering wheel is great
How much do those seats weigh? I imagine they're relatively uncomfortable to sit in. Did you install sliders or are they completely fixed? Can you adjust angle of the seat bottom?
Yeah, they kind of look like racing seats, but they don't have the shoulder harness pass-throughs. Was your goal with these seats primarily to save weight, or do they happen to fit you especially well?
That Probax Elise seat (without seat rail and brackets) is around 7KG, which is a lot lighter the standard 968 seat.
While it is not nearly as supportive as a real race seat, it is still great for spirited driving. With custom Alcantara insert, the seat is now grippy. I like it very much.
Please find below additional information about Probax seat in pdf format.
