I bought the entire set of trim to replace the ever-shrinking pieces that are (assumedly) original to the car. I'm talking the thin 1/4" trim that runs from wheel to wheel and across the back...
Came with no instructions. Do I just yank the pieces out and then carefully press the new trim in, or do I have to remove the body panels (the rockers and back bumper) to install the trim? Thanks!

I replaced the rubber for my door handles and rocker panels and you do have to remove them in order to replace. I have not done the bumpers, but assume this is also true there.
Sorry for the bad news. If you do a search there should be DIY on the subject.
Thanks for the info, Ryan. I had a sneaking suspicion that was the case, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I have been thinking of repainting, anyways. Curiously enough, I've been thinking of a blue like yours... cobalt? There's actually a couple on that swatch I like.... that shade of blue really offsets the headlights and silver of the rims. What makes me hesitate is the clash of the blue and red on the back bumper/taillights. Alternative = black, but it gets hot. The white I have right now is IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean.
Either way, I need to take the panels off to repaint before I install the trim. Grrrrrr....

Where did you buy the kit to buy all of the rubber for the body panels, sun roof, doors , mirrors etc. ?????

It was either Sunset, Paragon, or Pelican..... Sorry I can't remember for sure.
The rubber side cladding install is at the link below. The SEARCH function is the best helper to find odd things. I have a saved pdf file on the topic but have forgotten how to move from My Documents to Reply topic. Heck, I can go to another room now and not remember why or what I need to do.

You might want to pull the rocker sills before you order the rubber because you are going to bust a few of those brittle old clips and need to order them as well.
The clips and plugs are inexpensive so I would just order the full complement for each side (got mine from sunset). I tried to replace one of the rubber strips without replacing clips and I couldn't get the plastic molding to fit tight when I reinstalled using the old clips

Well I finally replaced the driver side rocker panel gasket, all new clips, every piece shown in the parts catalog has been replaced with new from sunset, but I still have a fitment problem. I cleaned the panel thoroughly removing all glue and residue etc. And I used a good 3M weatherstrip adhesive; the rubber strip is held in perfectly, at least that worked.
Hard to imagine the panels have warped that bad. But I'm wondering if I can take the panels off again and heat a little to try and reshape them.
I look at pics of other peoples cars and these panels look perfect like they completely hug the fender tight...
Ideas / suggestions?
(please no comments about all the rock chips and nicks -- I swear this car was routinely abused on gravel roads previously... Maybe someday a respray :0)

Just replaced mine too, and I havr the same problem: the fitment isn't exactly what you would call perfect... Maybe some heat could solve the problem indeed, but I feel my lazyness kicking in :-)
