The new McLaren P1 : sustained 2 G capability, with 2.4 G peak ! And it's a street car.
Still fugly if you ask me, but man... can you imagine taking that one to its limits ?!
These super-cars are getting beyond silly. I'm still partial to the McLaren F1 from the late 90's - plenty crazy fast enough, and possibly the last (and only?) really nice-looking super-car.
The more they look like angry cheese graters, the less I like them. I miss rolled and rounded fenders, and even the old doorstop wedges (except the TR7).
I think supercars are getting uglier because they're pushing the performance envelope so far now that function has taken over form. What's beautiful to the eye isn't necessarily producing enough downforce at 200+ mph. F1 cars are pretty funky looking these days!
