Silver
The metallic gleam of silver shines bright with innovation. Think stainless steel appliances and silver technology. It's the color of security and style, Cooperman says.
A silver car color indicates that you're a high-class lady or gentleman with an eye on the upscale, Augustin says. Your status is higher in the world, and you're not afraid to show it.
"As a fallback color, it's nice," Cooperman says, because it doesn't get as dirty as a white car or as hot as a black car. It seems most Americans would agree with that assessment, as it's the third most popular car color.
Strangely, no commentary on silver being the "Fastest" color...hmmm
See your color

this is about as scientific as astrology
Oh great, blue is associated with moms and their minivans...bah! What a crock.
Amazon Green (blue) still rocks!
Actually, it says, "hey, here's a blue 968 in nice shape for a fair price".
Well I like what it says about "black", but then its been a traditionally conservative color (even though technically "black" is not a color...)
White = honesty, purity, fresh, young, modern?? B.S.
White = that's the way it came.
No matter the color, ya gotta love 'em!
red racy fast, white clean pure. How's that for scientific?
This is a re-emerging line of inquiry in the areas of rhetoric and communications studies. Their 2014 semiotics conference is all about the semiotics of color.

But, I still bought the car because it was a good deal and in good shape. It just happened to be blue.
I bought mine for similar reasons. I wasn't a fan of white prior to the purchase of my 968 but it has grown somewhat on me. Now I have a white SUV. Again it was the buy not the color. I must admit when I looked at the red 968 I liked the color and had never had a red car. Fortunately the PPI worked out and I ended up with a red car. This is a color that didn't need to grow on me! Of course it was an oxidized orangey color until I detailed the true guards red back.
I wonder what the latest craze ( the Matte paint job ) says about anyone who opts for it . I've already seen Ferraris, Vettes, Maseratis, GTRs, and Lamborghinis with that purposely unfinished look . IMHO it's about as attractive as the DeLorean brushed steel..actually, worse ; looks as if you're driving a car with paint primer on it :-). And this " option " costs an extra $ 10, 000 - $ 25,000 !!
What does it say? I'll tell you what it says!
It says there goes a Frood like Hotblack Desiato.
I bet he always knows where his towel is.

How about knocking 15-20 mph off your ticket...
My 968 is red. This probably means that I like to drive fast. I would have thought that owning a Porsche would be a fairly good indicator that I like to drive fast. why did I buy a red one? Because it was the best value one on the market at the time.

Yes yes yes. That's all well and fine but, suppose you had been looking at two cars, one red and one say black or whatever color you like and they were both in the same condition and price. Which one would you have chosen? I was drawn to red for the first time in my life when I looked at mine. Thank God the PPI worked! Lol
I think you're on to something RAP. The question is, if you were placing an order for a brand new car, so that condition/price was not an issue, what would be your preference.
My dream Porsche would be Arctic Silver with a bright red interior.
Jay
Dream color scheme for me :
Ext. Metallic midnight blue ( in the hues used by Audi R8, or Maserati GT, or BMWs , which are just a touch lighter shade and more brilliant than the 969 midnight blues )
Int. Two tone - Chestnut brown or Rust or Wine and dark ( not charcoal ) grey.
Jay for a man your age don't you think a little variety may spice up your life? I was prit near your age when I went red on a dd and the 968 and there ain't no looki back! Lol
I've had 2 red cars, neither was a great experience. The first one I lost my shirt on resale, the second one killed 4 deer (2 simultaneously).
I'll stick with Silver,
Jay
Hmm red kills! My red kills woodchucks. Anyone else's red car kill anything.
My red turbo tried to kill me once. course the black ice had something to with the adventure - backwards downhill........
