OK Porsche People, this question is for all of you.

I recently purchased a set of 993 wheels, and one of the wheel cap badges was missing. When I asked the seller in Portland about it, he said it had fallen off prior to shipping, and he offered to send it to me.

Here are pictures of what he sent. Clearly it is not a wheel cap badge. It has a mounting post, and it is 30mm wide and 40mm tall, far too small for the cap on the wheels.

Any ideas? It looks like it might be a hood handle badge from a 356, but that is just an uneducated guess.

It is enameled, not painted, and it is in very good shape.
A 356 hood badge that goes onto the grab handle is actually curved and not flat, but it does have a single post like that.
Wish I could help, but I don, t recognize this piece. My hood badge has 2 posts.
Looks like a 73 or older, due to the orange striping, not red. Not sure which model though...

It is a reproduction 356 hood badge. The originals had a curve to them as pointed out & also had markings like the R in a circle to show the manufacturers mark. Most 356 repros had more of a red colored stripe but some of the better ones from a short run a couple of decades ago had the more orange stripe, but most all were flatter than the original. Most all 9 series cars I have ever seen from earliest 911/912 thru Panamera have two posts on the back and are larger. The current offering for a 356 badges is @ $35 new repro. Hope this helps. George
