I'm planning to have the seat back bolster, drivers seat recovered. 1992 Coupe. Leather supplier is World Upohlstery. My window sticker describes my upholstery color as beige. The sample from World Upholstery which looks to match is described as champaign. Anyone know if they are the same?
Not to muddy the issue, but I always thought it was Cashmere.

jay is correct. the correct color used in our cars is cashmere. it is NOT champagne. i made that mistake once. champagne is more yellow than cashmere.
Thanks Flash. I've held the sample from World Upholstery (labelled) champaign next to my leather and it looks correct but hard to tell from one inch swatch. The original window sticker on my car uses just the word beige. The leather9 Shop in Dearborn refers to it as Cashmere-Beige. But, It sounds as though you are confident champaign is different. My plan is to make a few phone calls tomorrow and see if I figure this out. Thanks again for the red flag.
i know how hard it is. i really couldn't tell from the swatches in the catalog either, and it's impossible on a computer screen. i am confident that unless somebody redid your stuff, it is NOT champagne, but it is cashmere. they call both beige. i just redid my entire interior in leather. it's cashmere.
see if there is a veteran company outlet near you. that is where just about everybody gets their leather.
I bet there are 20 "cashmeres" out there. The only way to be sure is to hold a sample next to a piece of trim, in daylight. Imo, that's the only way to be sure.
+1 on the screen comparison. Even a calibrated (Barco) computerscreen may deviate from the "true" colour. Screens show colour trough light, a fabric through light absorption because of the colour pigments.
actually, if you get it from the normal sources, there is only 1. they sort them by car manufacturer. so, if you go to a shop that sells veteran company porsche cashmere, it will be the same (allowing for die lot variance of course).
I still wouldn't buy anything without a sample. Better safe...
Have samples coming from World Source. And I will check on Veterans. Had not heard of them. Thank you.
With World you still needed to blend to determine "sheen"...it's a bit tricky.

Bought a couple covers for the front from World last year. Color was Cashmere and it matched pretty well. Seat covers fit perfect. Looks like OEM. Or I should say the drivers side does. The passengers side cover still sits in the box. That side doesn't look like the drivers side did before I recovered it. Got to get to that one day.
please let us know who you go with and look into for you interior. I need magenta carpet.

This is an old thread - but I need to recover my red 94 coupe w/ Cashmere interior - front seats.
World upholstery does NOT list a cashmere anymore.

UM, pick up the phone and call them???

My 1983 Porsche 944 had a champaign interior, not even close to what is pictured. My 968 has a cashmere interior which too my eye is more yellow than beige.
The champaign had a distinct gray cast to it, not close to beige at all.

Ummm - I did lol.
They are gonna send some swatches - just trying to get all info possible!!
ChampaIGN? Is that the German spelling for champagne....?
That's the proper spelling in parts of Illinois, so don't be so critical.
Actually I was only partially joking , I’ve seen a couple of deliberately modified words , including colors descriptions, that are intended to sound just close enough to the real word but for whatever reason ( maybe even legal issues as could be the case with champagne ) were differently spelled.
Just remember when ordering the champaign , beige, or cashmere samples not to get them in leatherette . Choose corinthian leather !
Or you will incur the wrath of Khan.
