Busy year for both in 2014 so we lowered our expectations - for the trip duration that is, not for the fun. In fact we had great fun this year. We only had 4 days so we kept it simple - squiggly lines on the map close to home. Since we did not have huge miles to cover each day as in the past, when we found a piece of road we liked, we repeated it - several times. Mike drove this year as well which made it even more fun - my first road trip experience as a right-seater.

A few pics.

This makes 5 years in a row now. By far the best thing to come from this car are these trips. I get to know my son better every year - hours in a car will do that.

And by the way - not a single issue with the car other than the annoying wind noise from the top. 15,000 miles on the car since D1R SC Stage 3 installed and not 1 problem - really runs like OEM. If you did not know this was after market you would swear the car was built this way.
Great pics. Cars and family. What could be better?

Great to hear that someone else here uses their car for road trips. 968 is new to me, but my wife an I try to do a road trip once a year. Last year San Francisco to Michigan. Looks like we traveled some of the same roads. Stopped for a beer at Furnace Inn in Death Valley. Looking forward to my first trip in 968 which I traded M3 for just a month ago.
Looks like a great trip. I make a 1,000 trek three or four times a year with the 968 and while the six speed is a lot more fun, I can't really complain about the tip either .. I have to agree about the wind noise ; even with the coupe, past 150-160 mph it starts to interfere with the otherwise quiet enjoyment of the stereo, LOL. Both the D1R Satge 3 SCs, and both aftermarket stereos systems set up in my cars are the handywork of flash, making the cars that much more fun to drive :-) :-) .
