A short vid, but this thing looks like it's going pretty fast. A the end, there are a few millions of USD in the pitbox.

Credit to the people who are brave enough to still use these cars for what they were build for...

You just have to love the sound of this car!

Really ?! To each his own I suppose , I for one think it sounds like crap ! Ratty .

( not that I would refuse driving it just for that , lol.. )
Sounds are like women. You must look for that which you enjoy!
I don't love the sound but the garage walk at the end is great.  Cars of that era are just gorgeous!  I don't like the size or styling of today's cars, even the extremely expensive exotic ones... Sad

Amen !      Give me a 1964-68 Ferrari 275 GTB coupe ( or for that matter just about any Ferraris or Jaguars or Aston Martins of that same era ..)  or even a Dino regardless how slow it may be, or even that ratty-sounding Porsche 904 ..any day !   Ah, if only I had $ 10 mil. or $ 20 mil disposable cash to spend on one of those cars..

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to own a 275 GTB, but every time I see the tail I get a "what were they thinking" feeling. Those plain round lights and broad threshold just don't work for me.

JMO,

Jay

not sure what car that is in the photo but it's not a stock 275 gtb  .     see below pics .   however, yes I do agree the back of the car is far too spartan and leaves a lot to be desired.  I also don't care that much for the low hanging and too far outside the body line exhaust tips.    however, the rest of the car makes up for those minor " what were they thinking "  elements

Gorgeous car, cars from the 60's really had a natural beauty to them that we don't see today. The exhaust tips do stick out a bit but they look good overall. Perhaps they were an inspiration to the ricer crowd?[attachment=12552]
The shop has a Ferrari in for a timing belt change. The engine has to be taken out. We are going to charge about $5000 to do this. The Ferrari dealer wanted $14000. So if youi have one the exocitcs bteer have a "little" put aside for service.

The 904 may be the best looking Porsche ever.

Best looking Porsches ever ( IMHO )     1.  918   2. 904   3. 968   ...and then a very distant  4.  996 Turbo   5.  GT3 RS    As for the GT - not even in my top 10 Porsches..

I think the Cayman has the best looking rear end Porsche ever made.

Bill

Did you notice that the 904 in the video was running 4 cylinder twin-cam. The first time I went to see a USRRC race weekend a Laguna Seca, Don Wester the local Porsche dealer showed up with a 904 GTS. Nobody even knew what it was, other than fast. so it ended up running B Production. The A production cars consisted of the 4 works Shelby Cobras, one of which was Ken Miles' black number 98. The other three were factory team blue and white. Vic Eddelbrock had a 327 split window Stingray. In B production the 904 ran against a fleet of 283 Corvettes and Merle Brennan driving a Jaguar XKE lightweight. The 904 split the Cobras finishing 1st in CLass, 3rd overall, the 327 Vette finished 5th in class 6th overall and the XKE finished 2nd in class and 7th overall. A great race.

Great story and pics, Chris! Smile

A few years ago I witnessed a 917 leaving the Techno Classica in Germany. Unbelievably loud and angry sounding flat-12. Makes most supercars sound like lawnmowers. The twin-turbo Can-Am version went up to 1580 bhp for 1800 lb (a measly 1967.36 bhp/tonne... )

Turn up the volume!

For a second I thought that 917 would enter the race only if the four dudes were to push it continuously around the track from start to finish ..they'd have to run pretty fast though . :-) :-)

Nice vid. Good sound, can you imagine that thing at WOT ?!
Are you all aware that Renn Sport V will be at Laguna Seca some time in September. If I'm not complete hamstrung with harvest I'm going to go. Three hundred or more racing Porsches, how good is that. Want to hear a 917 running at WOT, go to the you tube site for 19Bozzy92. Actually, if you watch Bulti's posted video all the way through, some links to other videos will appear, one of which is Bozzy. I think it is a blue and white 917 #24 running at Monza.

The you can go the Canepa's website and he has posted an incur video opt his 917 running at LAguna Seca.
