Has anyone found an alternative which can be used in place of the OE rear carpet fasteners ( aka retainer push clips ) ? Being the cheap plastic they're made of, half of mine ( in both cars ) have broken in the process of removing and putting them back in and I need about a dozen , but at $ 9 each it seems such a ripoff I'm contemplating using something else. The OE door push pin fasteners go for about $ 10 for 25 pieces so not sure why the rear carpet fasteners which look not much more complex are $ 9 a piece . Ugh, typical Porsche .
I actually replaced several of them on my boot cover. I found them in wife's  sewing kit and should be available in a big fabric store. Just bring an old one in for sizing. Much cheaper than buying them OEM. Buy them in metal.

Great idea , will do that . I was thinking of a hardware store like OSH , but never thought of a fabric store - JoAnn Fabrics here I come, lol !
My boot cover required Tenex Fasteners...this is the source I found.

Jay , " boot " ?! Have the Brits recolonized the east coast while we weren't paying attention ? :-) :-)
Actually the boot is the canvas cover for the top while it is in the down position, not the trunk....we still speak 'merican here.

Jay, the Tenex fasteners are only required on part of the outside boot cover. The rest are the same type as the ones you find in the trunk. Those I had to replace.

There is a Lowes' store two minutes drive from my office , so I stopped by to see what they might have. In their hardware " specialty " section they have several drawers labeled Automotive with fasteners, retaining clips, etc. And much to my surprise I found the same type and size fasteners for a mere $ 1.09 and that's for a pair ! They only come in black , but considering where they're going I could not care less . So I bought a dozen for under $ 7 , as opposed to what would have been $ 108 from Porsche ..

Yeah, but now you have to spend $102 on having the Porsche Part # engraved on each one  :glare:
