Do you think the Manager in the exclusive department at Porsche had to call and double check to make sure the person requesting this color was serious and it was not a huge error?

Talk about needing attention!

Maybe the buyer got a special deal to take one of the last 996s in a "unique" color.
I'll bet that one was a pre-paid with a NO RETURN clause !!!

I wonder if it comes with a reostat to turn it down at night, wouldn't be able to sleep at night with that glow in the garage.

Nope it is being sold New at Pioneer in San Diego. Prob. the guy sobered up and saw what he had done and canceled and told them to keep the deposit.
138k for a Lime... that is some expensive fruit...
Somehow the yellow calipers really spoil the look.

Rick
clearly nobody had ever told him about the racer's green car curse when he ordered the car
I lived in Charleston, SC when it was the port of entry for Porsche...the inventory lot looked like Easter eggs from the air...I was shocked at all of the custom colors that were ordered on a regular basis.
they must be remaking Miami Vice and needed a car for the first episode

on the other hand, after one sees the pink or neon purple Lamborghinis and Bentleys ( mostly featured on MTV...in shows exposing stars' "toys" ) suddenly this one seems a rather conservative choice.

and let's not forget there are one or two 968s out there in UNIQUE color combos...
Does anyone remember the late sixties? That was a time of really wild P-colors. Really great cars with really awful paint jobs. Yuk!!!
