From Edmonton Alberta where I finally got my Guards Red 968,   After 23 years with a 944S - 10 years as a daily driver in the Canadian winters (God bless my LSD with 5-6 months of driving on snow!) and adding 130,000 km - it was time to say goodbye and look for something new.  Thanks to alerts from Autotrader I was able to locate a 1992 968 in Calgary and with 87,000 km on the clock.  After a few tense days and a realization that I was unlikely to find a better 968 in Western Canada I did the deal.  Interior was perfect for its age and mechanically it was all up to date.   Needs a bit of work on the body to win at concours - but it's purchased to drive not sit in a garage.  Won't be driven in the winter, however, since I have a 2015 Macan S.

Things I have noticed so far:
  • The performance increase is immediately noticeable - lots of torque - but part of the fun of the 944S was having to DRIVE it.
  • Cruising at highway speed is 3,000 rpm instead of 4,000 in the 944S.
  • I was spoilt with the 944S sport seats - regular seats are OK but I'm maybe looking for a driver's sports seat
  • Road noise is more noticeable - any comments on reducing it?
  • Ride is maybe a little harsher.
That's my intro - the 944S has gone to a good home - down to 2 Porsches now!
