So after quite a bit of research I finally found my 968! 1992 black with tan/black interior and 94000 miles, a little higher than what I had initially wanted but it was in such good shape overall and I was able to pick it up for $11500. Body is great, interior is essentially flawless, drives like a dream. I took it to a local indy Porsche shop and just got some basic maintenance work done to bring it all up to speed. Anyone in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area I HIGHLY recommend Exotic Motorwerks on Thomas, they are unrivaled in their commitment to do things absolutely correctly and I trust them implicitly. A shout out to Yolanda and Dan there for their help and advice in purchasing the car. I feel like when I first got my license and we'd run out of bread, I'd be the first out the door and behind the wheel to run trivial errands. What a joy these cars are! Anyway, thanks all for your replys and advice esp Joe and Flash on their emails. Excited to be part of the community and I've been reading posts like crazy. Any thoughts on the mileage? I'm curious as to how many miles are still left on the motor if I maintain it properly from here on out. I do not drive it hard and take very good care of my cars. Any advice on cheap upgrades for a bit of a jump in HP? I've heard the air box mod with the 3 or 4 holes is a good start.
Welcome to the 968 community! Check out Pete Fitzpatricks modifications on the RS Barn site. Right now it looks like he has the best performing software (chip) and exhaust for the 968. When you want to get into more HP and expense he has modified cylinder head and camshafts as well as a performance cat. good luck and try to avoid the "slippery slope" of engine modifications! Bob Blackwell.
As far as the mileage goes they are quite a few well over 150K
Welcome. You'll never regret the purchase. Many happy miles ahead !!
