I had my mechanic do the rebuild for me over a year ago with the KLA kit. Cured the leak and no issues since. I track this car at DEs on a regular basis, so the pump spins pretty fast!

I have used it and it worked well. I only used the housing seal as that was the only seal leaking and I was rushing a bit.

In using the KLA seal kit, what about the front seal on the power steering pump case that the shaft goes thru...I suppose the pulley mounting boss has to be pressed off in order to change it? I assume that the pulley mounting boss can be pressed back on the shaft by simply setting the vane section of the pump inside the front case half down against a flat plate and then carefully pressing the boss back onto the shaft? Also how do you dissassemble the internal part of the vane pump within the front case half?

After messing with the power steering pump this weekend I figured out that it is actually quite easy to disassemble. After unbolting and spilitting the case halfs, the plate above the vane part of the pump can be pulled away from it (only a film of oil keeps it attached) exposing the vane part and splined shaft that is held in with a C-clip. Just remove the C-clip and the pump shaft can be pulled straight out the front of the case half allowing the front wiper seal to then be replaced. In otherewords, the pulley mounting boss does not have to be pressed off the shaft like I previously thought. The entire rebuild with new seals & o-rings is a very simple job and will restore the power steering pump function back to new for a very small price ($20 from Paragon).
I also disassembled the power steering rack as well to replace all of the seals ($70 from Paragon), and it is basically fairly easy to break down. The tough part though is trying to knock out the pinion shaft wiper seal within the pinion case (it is located down inside of the case with the rear side facing up...I'm not sure how the hell I'm going to get it out without damaging the case!), and the rack shaft wiper seal in the long tube that attaches to the pinion case (it too is located down inside the 12" long tube tube with the rear side facing up, so it will really be a mother to get out as well as punch a new one back in). Have any of the rest of you done this job before? Judging by what all I have read I doubt any of you have!
