Anyone has installed the Pro Max performance chip for 968? Would you please provide your opinions?

Thanks
It along with the Racer-X were the favorites aroung her for awhile with the RSBarn now catching on. (Ihave the RSBarn chip. The Promax comes in two flavors one with a 7100rpm(?) redline and one with a a 7700rpm(?). You can search on Promax here and find lots of info.
Oh, will you find lots of info here ...

tick, tick, tick, tick, tick ...

Suffice it so say that there are partisans on each side of the Racer X, Promax, and RS Barn chips. All three seem to be well worth the money.
Recently bought a 968 with a Racing Dynamics chip installed. Have there been any comparisons as how this chip stacks up?
not that i know of - it was not one of the ones that i tested - currently the ranking, of the performance of the major manufacturers, in order of highest to lowest, assuming you are not concerned about redline, and have the later DME, is as follows:

rs barn

racer x

promax 7700

weltmeister

autothority

the rs barn has a trade in offer when you upgrade
I had an article in the May 2006 issue of Excellence magazine on installing and dyno testing the ProMax chip. On my bone stock 968 (not even the airbox mod), I got an additional 11.5 hp and 11.5 ft-lbs of torque. The really good news is that the torque is available pretty much right from the start; for example, I had an extra 10 ft-lbs of torque at 1,700 RPM, which makes the car easier to drive around town. Also good news is that installing the chip seems to have no effect on the car's gas mileage. I just got 27 mpg driving to/from the 968 Celebration.

Again, all this is in the May 2006 Excellence (page 145), including step-by-step instructions and dyno chart. I have not used anything other than the ProMax (and factory) chip, so I can't speak to the others.

I have the 7100-rpm ProMax and like it. Thinking about doing the RSBarn exhaust and Stage 1 chip package eventually, but in the meantime, the ProMax has been great. As mentioned earlier, it makes the car noticably stronger below 3,000 rpm where I'm stuck a lot of the time in our miserable traffic congestion.
side note - forgot to mention - the rs barn software not only produces more power over a wider band than the others, and has a trade in program, but is also less expensive than the others

nuf said there by me - not looking for any arguments or rehashing of old news

for more details, there are a lot of threads and data about this topic for sure
