This is why I remove and replace my wheels - I don't trust anyone with hoisting the car.

Even after I request that they be careful they still scratched up the rims!
I wonder how bad the damage would've been had it been a heavier car. By the looks of it the body didnt sustain any damage.

If you read the long thread on that Subaru forum, the car will probably be totaled. Apparently, the Elise has just four main body panels and all of them were damaged. It's made from some composite material that is either unfixable or so difficult that it's not worth it. At least, that's what I got from reading the thread.

The people that work in tire shops are the bottom of the barrel. They are always screwing stuff up. "Oh you wanted your lug-nuts tight?" I hear stories from everybody I know. I had the sills crushed on my 944S by a tire shop that forgot to use spacers while lifting my car. I have had wheels almost fall off while driving ect. Even the good INDY shops I wonder about. I took wheels in to get tires mounted and got them back mounted in the wrong direction. Help!!!
My best experiences in Arizona have always been at Discount Tire. They seem to train their people well, use a torque wrench faithfully, and have never damaged anthing I own. And they will price match any other local or Internet price on new tires.

A number of years ago, I had a Fiero GT that got driven over a curb - and the frame damage resulted in the car being declared a total loss even though there was absolutely no externally visible damage.
