An original RS <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> !!

Wow, look at that engine! Its got all the performance mods that people claim are too expensive to develop <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
What a beautiful machine. I don't know what it sold for last time, but the asking price was $125K.
I LOVE that engine bay.

That strut bar is quite simply fantastic
<img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wub.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
And a couple of pictures of the back to add to the above. the nozzel in the abck is for the air jack required when it was raced in LeMans.
Anyone have videos of this thing in action? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

That would be nice.
Never fired it up since it has a 30 hour motor in it they were not going to waste it rolling it in out of the trailer.
I grabbed these pictures off the net the last time this AWESOME car was for sale...I almost bought it.........I wish

Enjoy

Miles
speechless. that thing is sechs on wheels.
King of the beasts...the 968 is the ultimate in the 944/968 line and this 968 is the ultimate of the ultimates. Man, what a roll cage. And the time spent on all the details must have been tremendous. I love it.

So why exactly does the engine last for only 30 hours?

Highly tuned, puts alot of stress on bearings and such
Bumping this up for allot of new folks who have joined, and my have never seen the beast.
Thanks for bumping it up! This is the stuff of dreams...

One thing that I am wondering about...how is the ignition managed? I see no distributor and no coil...
It has a stand alone engine managment.
There are 4 coils mounted behind the fire wall, triggered by the ECU.
Sweet front splitter. Is that some sort of rubber around the edge?
Carbon fiber undertray.

Picture from Rennsport Reunion II.
