Well, it's that time of year again! Time to blow out the old brake (and clutch) fluid.

Just checking to see if everyone is still in agreement that ATE Brake Fluid is the way to go?

If so, Blue or Gold? And what is the difference? I could look it up, but easier to ask those in the know!!!

Is this fluid one that has to be ordered, or is there a chance that a FLAPS would carry it???

And, (of course), Motive Power Bleeders... only sold thru the web suppliers, or is there a chance I would find one at my local NAPA store???

I may have time to jump on this project tomorrow (lucky me), and if the supplies are locally available, I can get right to it!

Thanks all!
Same thing, color is the only difference...and yes, most of us still prefer the ATE Racing fluids.
There is no difference in the ATE Blue and Gold other than the color. If you alternate between blue and gold when flushing it makes it easier to tell when you've flushed all the old fluid from the lines. I assume FLAPS is an auto parts place that is local to you. I haven't seen the ATE in any local auto parts places, but my local Porsche fix-it place sells it and probably some of the specialty tuner shops may carry it. Same with the Motive bleeder. I ordered mine from Paragon. If you're willing to pay for express shipping, you may be able to get one by the weekend. There are other brake fluids out there with higher wet/dry boiling points but they are usually significantly higher in cost. I usually put in new fluid before each event that I do and do not have any brake fade issues using ATE.

Good luck,

mike
Super! That is what I needed to know!

Oh, happy brake fluid changing, here I come!
I like the Motul 600 but I'm currently using ATE as the performance is good and the price is cheaper.
