YYIIKES ! I took a work colleague out for a spin yesterday, and got on a fairly long onramp which

allowed for a spirited merge on to the highway at about 110mph ..after which I was fully prepared to slow down mind you, but within a couple of seconds of getting on the freeway ( while I was still over 100 ) I saw the motorcycle CHP about 300ft ahead with the hand held radar pointing straight at us. I'm F****D , I thought..

Still not sure I can explain why he did nothing and let me go right by, probably doing about 75 mph, other than the fact that in the right hand lane there was an 18-wheeler which might have just blocked his radar's sight line at the moment I got on. There were only about three or four other cars on that general section and I know he saw me (and heard the BB exhaust note ) knew I saw him, and yet.. nothing. Whew !

Atlas, the God of roads ( or is it the God of maps ? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> ) must like 968s and probably zapped the CHP dude into unconsciousness for a couple of seconds. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Whatever it was, I'm going to count it as a really good day <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
and where was the radar detector and what was it doing?

lesson learned?
the radar detector was in its carrying case, on the floor behind the passenger seat. I guess they don't work very well that way <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

lesson learned - absolutely ! ( note to self : see above mistake, take out of case & drive with radar detector ON ! ) <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
