I have developed, rapidly, a noise in my tranny. The noise does not fit the description of the pinion bearing failure that is so common in the 968. At any rate, I'm doing my research right now, and discovered that none of the links on the DIY section of this forum seem to work. I scrolled through all the message links and could not get any of the links to work. Does anyone know where the manuals went?



Also, noted Flash's recommendation of Bobby Hart to do the rebuild. Does anyone have a recommendation in the Chicago area? I can pull the box myself, but would prefer someone a little closer to the house.

My transmission was rebuilt and the pinion bearing whine corrected by a local shop owned by Russ Kelso. PMCI can be contacted at: (800) 437-PMCI or email: PMCIINC@comcast.net Russ has done several of the 968 transmissions and everyone has been very pleased with the results and the cost. I am still searching for a source or the 968 shop manual with the section that contains info on the 6 speed trans. Have not been able to get any of the links on this web site to work. Can anyone help out?
