Hi guys,
I'm looking at the following wheels and was wondering whether anyone has had any experience with them:
Wheel type: SSR GT3
Front: 18x8 Offset: 49mm
Rear: 18x10 Offset: 62mm
These wheels are listed on the tirerack website as 'available' for the 968.
Let me know what you guys think...

I can't say much about the fit, but on a cab the 18 is going to create a bit of a rough ride if your car is basically stock suspension wise. I personally wouldn't go higher then 17 on a cab if this a is a around town kind of car.
i would not worry about the ride - all things being equal, the ride won't change any more on a cab than on a hatchback - however, suspension changes on a cab do make changes in the ride that wouldn't happen so quickly in a hatchback - that includes adding weight to the corners with heavy wheels - that is, until you add the bracing
i would be concerned about the weight - as i remember those wheels are heavy - call john at wheel enhancement
also, the offsets might not work, depending on tire brand and size, ride height, spring rate, camber angles, yada - the front is awfully close to the outside, and the rear is very close to the inside

Hi Bob,
The weight compares favourably to my original porsche 17" rims for the 968 (24lbs for the front - not sure about the back). The SSRs are 23.8 for the front and 25.6 for the back.
Have you got a number for John?

yeah - that's about what i remember - after adding the weight from the bigger tires, it was too heavy for what i was looking for - not horrible though

even though the wheels weigh the same, your still putting a goodly percentage of that weight out further from the center. which means itll require more torque (fxd) to move the wheel.
checky checky this excel file that helps work it out.
