Some may remember that I rented a PT Cruiser during the summer while my 968 was getting its new top and paint. Since then, my wife has been pressuring me to buy a car so that I don't have to drive the refreshened 968 cab through the winter. I finally relinquished, and I'm now the owner (since yesterday) of a 2004 black PT Cruiser 5-speed Touring Edition. This may sound like heresy - but the car is really fun (albeit not in the same way as the 968). The original owner had been a bit of a nut, so it has custom wheels and some other nice little touches. I've already started to upgrade - hood struts (it has the old-fashioned prop bar) and a strut tower brace. More to come.

Somehow, Anchorman without his 968 is like James Bond without his dry Martini...very hard to imagine.

No matter what, my 968 can't become a "garage queen" because I have no garage to put it in. However, my townhouse community has a nice little parking lot near the back of our unit, so it will start spending time there.
You may have a chance to see the PT - if you're not working too hard. I have to pick up my spare front calipers from Pete this week. Steve gave me the name of a place on the west coast that will clean, polymer coat, and rebuild them (with my parts that I've had for three years), so I need to get them to send them for this work. Then I'll have Pete swap calipers and I'll finally have my silver front calipers (I guess I'll call them "Little Silvers").

Anchorman, better start stocking up on PT parts as Chrysler is dropping the PT line from production. Could become a collector's item.
