Well I WAS going to start a thread about how my car acts when cold. Ever since I bought it, it would accelerate un--smooth...surging w/ power...for the first few accels. Especially when it is colder out and when accelerating up a hill or something. I figured it just needed to be caught up on maintenance so I replaced cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Then later replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the MAF. Nothing helped and I got used to it so I figured I'd eventually post about it and figure it out.

Well, recently I installed the RSBarn Stage 1 chip which completely solved the problem. I don't know how, but I assume the problem had something to do w/ fuel mix or timing.

On that note, I love the chip. It makes the car much more drivable. Mine is a DD and the chip really smoothed out the torque delivery below 4500rpms. It honestly feels like the car SHOULD have driven this well straight from the factory. I feel much more comfortable accelerating hard off the line since it doesn't get bogged down in the lower revs. It's also much easier to stay in 2nd from a slow roll.

I can't say...nor do I care...how many extra max HP it provided, etc, etc, but I would highly recommend it to anyone who drives their 968 daily.

my car has the same cold lunging, especially from 2200rpm to 2800 rpm... smooth everywhere else.

Perhaps I should pick myself up a chip(I know I probably should anyway)

lol - yeah - the rs barn stage 1 chip is one of those "no brainer" things for any car - between it and the airbox mod, you get about a 10% increase in power for very little dough, and no discernible downsides

and then there's that wonderful trade-in policy for when you get addicted and want to upgrade..................

We just figured it would take you about 250 posts and 1 more year to buy the chip. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Just guessing that was the post count and time it took for you to find the car. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
was closer to 200 posts and a year actually to buy the car...

hey, the best things in lift are worth waiting for.

I'll probably pick up the chip when I get things settled with the insurance company on the honda. Will sort out that round of modifications/maintenance(new pads/rotors, 02 sensor, and belts/rollers are in order).
