I'm finally going to post Dyno results from RS Barn Mods. I now feel there is a "Safe" site to show and share information with the 968 Community.

I will post more information soon but here is a starter.

I found a Dyno Jet dyno close by. I've never used a DynoJet for tuning. They're not the best tool for that and don't sample A/F with the precision of other Dynos.

I am a little "spoofed" at the results. The overall numbers were low and even paralled the original work I had done on an early Mustang that always gives low numbers. The gains are generous though and do seem to mimick the "Road Tests". All tests were done back to back and are accurate.

One thing that is always deceiving about Dyno results are the ending results. Max HP and Torque. My spreadsheets give a insite to what is REAL IMPORTANT.

I'm assuming this is RWHP, and stage 1 chip only? What kinds of gains would we see if he had the air box mod, but no chip, a few HP at best?
Thanks for the effort Pete, from what I have read and heard it is almost meaningless to compare with results from here in Albuquerque (Altitude 5,000 feet) but would be a good comparison for another car at your same location. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

I know it is pointless to compare dyno runs, but I find it interesting that I have some old dynojet numbers that are all but identical to Pete's final numbers - throughout the rpm range. I have some but not all of the same pieces.
Pat- Airbox seems to be maybe 4Hp of gain. It is a nice component of the gains. I also did some intake temp testing to see what heat sink occurs to mass air flow sensor on dyno. Internal temp goes up 50 degrees or so.

This was done on this dyno for comparison purposes only. I was pleasantly surprized with results. I usually only test while tuning and on other dynos. The printouts from the DynoJet let me grab data for the spreadsheets.

When they Track test HP numbers on DynoJet (NASA) will be higher due to nice hot diff trans oil temps.

Adding 40 hp with just exhaust mods and a Stage 1 chip is truly an impressive accomplishment. So, between this and the airbox mod, 280 flywheel hp is easily attainable on a healthy engine, which is outstanding bang for the buck. Makes discussion of the various engine swaps (with the exception of the Chevy V8s, which truly can bring horsepower into the stratosphere) brought up over the years seem kind of moot.
What I find interresting is all that extra low mid power. Would allow you a much peakier cam with retained drivability.

With my limited knowledge, all I can say is that is truly impressive.

Pretty amazing numbers for a N/A 4 cylinder even when compared with today's 3 liter V6's.



Porsche really did a fantastic job when they developed this engine.

And RSB can make it even better.
Any chance of getting some acceleration times?

60-120 or whatever that new bench mark is?
