Hey guys,

I need your input. I am looking in to purchasing MO30 struts and springs(the whole assembly). The car that it was taken off of had 84k miles. Now, the seller is asking $500. I don't know whether I should go with the MO30 or for a little bit more or go with the Koni's.

Thanks

Alex
I feel they are over rated unless you are going to adjust ride height often.

Others will probably differ.
For that kind of money you can get the koni adjustable conersion from paragon.
Might partially depend if you want to build yourself up an M030, if that matters to you. Adding the brakes, spindles and factory sways...there is an attraction for those who are any kind of purest. Just wanted to point out the M030's are Koni's, to those reading the posts, who may be unfamiliar with the specifics. Koni can make them double-adjustable during a rebuild, btw, but it ads up. There are facilities in Ohio, CA and KY, I beleive. Your cost to acquire the used set seems reasonable, though.
I already purchased the MO30 sway bars and I was looking to go Koni adjust adjustabels all around but I found these. My Cousin has an s2 with Koni adjustables and rides tight and feels great. Is the MO30 comparable to Koni adjustable? note the ones im looking at are off a 968 so I would not have to pay to put the inserts in.

If your worried about doing the conversion Don't be its easy! And don,t forget the milage on those struts,

you might be looking at more $ in the near future. And the kit mentioned earlier is the adjustable ride hight

and you can choose the spring you want for nearly the same price. I went with 225s and the ride is not too bad on the street.

Good luck
The M030 for 968 and 951, are pretty much the same part, I think Porsche provided two lock rings for the lower perch on one, and even this is not a meaningful difference. The M030 struts are Koni adjustables. The damper is Koni, and can be rebuilt by Koni. You have a single adjustment on the top of the shock as it exits the shock tower under the hood. Koni can turn them into double-adjustable when they rebuild them, but all in all, it adds up. The double-adjustable allows dialing in of compression and rebound. I think single adjustable allows dialing in of rebound only. Spring perches are available from Racers Edge (racersedge-inc.com) and others to allow various third party springs to be used with the M030 struts.
I bought them. (bitting my nails) I will keep you guys up to date when they come in the mail. Hopefully it will all work out for me.

Thanks

Alex
They came in this past Friday and I took a look at them and I am happy. There is a couple of things I need such as bump stops, bushing etc. But the overall condition is great. And I will be even more happy to get them in this upcoming weekend. I will take some pics to share.

Alex
Put those bad boys in. Right Now my I have mo30 front struts and I have Koni yellows in the back, along with the mo30 sways. I lowered the back to euro ride hieght (WHAT A PAIN IN MY ASS) and soon will be lowering the front. I am very pleased with the ride. To be honest when I first took my car out it felt better than sex <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> So if any body here looking to do the upgrade don't hesitate.

Alex
