I have been searching this forum to find out how to authenticate a factory M030 coupe. I'm in the process of putting my 93 Amazon Green/tan baby up for sale on Ebay and forgot how to verify the M030 option/package. Can anyone tell me if it's in the vin or the option code? Option code s don't confirm, nor does Scouser's vin decoder on renntech. Any help appreciated... Allan
Well on the option tag it would show code 030 or M030.

Also I think the M030 brakes require 17" wheels. But I'm not 100% positive.
not the 17" wheels.

My 968 came with the 17" as an option without it being an M030.

I would say option tag in trunk area is the place to confirm, 17 inch wheels, suspension and brakes could always be added to non factory M030 car.

So the bigger calipers will fit under the 16's?

Good to know.

A nice way to hide them too. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
i don't think anybody said the M030 brakes fit on 16s - they said the 17s were available without M030

but i think somebody recently said on another thread that they do fit
The M030 brakes will fit with either 16 or 17 (or 18) inch wheels. I use 16 inch wheels on "ol blue" for fuel economy when daily driving and put my 17 inch wheels on for track events. I have upgraded the front brakes to M030 (bought the calipers from a used 1987 928S4 from salvage yard and rebuilt). The 16 inch wheels are also from an early 928, they are the "flat dish style). Good luck, Bob Blackwell.
lol - well it seems my memory was correct - cool - maybe i'm not losing yet after all
I read SILVY968's post too quick and jumped the gun.

Funny that it ended up correct anyway. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
