This is not as simple (for me) as it sounds. I have tried the diagnostic plug pin 12 (ALWAYS hot) and the cigar light (OFF when the key is in start). Since I'm using this to power the TECgt EMS what I really need is 12V that comes alive when the key is swithched to ON, and stays alive in RUN and START.
Where can I find this? Be careful if you know where to find it in the 944/951, the 968 is quite different when it comes to the electrical design.

Actually, the radio is next, unless there is something easier. The wiring in there is a MESS and I just hate dealing with it. If that doesn't pan out it looks like I'll be running a new wire from the central electric (fuse) box.
Can't check schematic right now, but....sunroof switch?
Why not use a spare from the fuse box?
I am sure there is a spare that is only on with ignition.
The easy way is to pick the 12 volt from the left foot well from the + 30 at the left side of the fuse and relay board.
You have to pull out the board a little to see the two big red cables!.
If you pick up the puls overthere you can use your own trigger to let it work the way you would like with one or two relays.
OK! The radio lead was actually easy to get to. I had previously wired in a "Knocksense" using it and it was one of the handiest wires in the whole mess to work with. I did verify that the wire is hot in ON, RUN, and START and cold when the key is off. Now that the TECgt doesn't loose its mind during starting I was able to get it running and collect some data so that Chris White at 944 Enhancement can start his tuning magic.
