As I understand it, different LED set ups , as well as different makers' LED kits can vary widely from one to another in terms of intensity of the light they produce. Furthermore, even the color of the LED ( from the same maker , and same set up ) can make a difference in how intense or dim it actually is ( red is weaker, blue is stronger ) So, if anyone here has installed Jager Engineering' Blue LED kit in their 968, could you please post, or better yet email or PM me, because I'm trying to get a good idea of what exactly to expect before I have the kit installed.

The dilemma is the dimmer adapter which I could put in so the stock dimmer works with the kit, but I keep hearing if you put in the wrong wattage potentioner ( Jager recommends a 5K Ohm potentioner, but no mention how many watts and they do vary..) it could short your entire LED display.

So the question is just how bright is Jagers's LED blue light kit, because if I can do without a dimmer at all, that would certainly be my preference.. Since the level of illumination is is fairly subjective I suggested an email or PM, just so we don't take up thread space with stuff like " is it as bright as a Las Vegas neon show ? ? " No, a bit less, more like airport runway lights " " Well, so is it then like the display on the car's stereo ? " , " Well, pretty close, but it's only behind the mph numbers themselves, not the entire enclosure .. "

You get the idea...

I guess no one had that particular set Oh well, no longer relevant as I answered my own question; I had the LED kit installed today and it's lookin' good ! Love the blue color. That being said, I do wish it was brighter and this is getting into an entirely subjective area but I would have preferred the lights to be more intense. To my eye it's not at all brighter than the max light setting with the OEM bulbs, in fact it may be 10% less illumination, though the numerals on the gauges are crispier, so in that sense I'm not complaining - still looks great ! So IMO no need at all for an adapter to make the dimmer fully functional -the button still works to reduce the light by probably 20%...if you insist on it, though you'll have a hard time seeing anything at that level unless you have the eyes of a nocturnal animal

I tried to take a photo but the picture comes out 1000 X brighter than the live version for some reason , so if I post that you guys will think " WTF is he talking about, lack of illumination ?! This thing looks like Tokyo's Ginza or Roppongi districts at night "
