Anyone seen Clint Eastwood's new film "Gran Torino."
He plays a politically incorrect auto worker whose prized
posession is a 72 Ford Gran Torino.
A real nice looking car with a nice green color. I liked
the film as well. Did anyone whose seen it stick around
for the closing credits. I'm curious where they bought it,
or who restored, it if it's mentioned at all?
A GREAT movie. Don't know anything about the car - have you tried an Internet search? I was wondering why that particular car was chosen.
I'd like to see the movie. I had a '72 Gran Torino that my wife and I purchased from her father in '75 after we first got married. It was not necessarily the car I would have picked but it was a convenient deal and the price was right. It was a silver-ish, 351 Cleveland, auto, 2bbl carb, not a sports car but I did put slotted deep dish wheels with wide tires in the back (L60-15 iirc) which looked cool in the '70s. There were 2 body styles, a coupe and a fastback. We had the coupe.
@Mike; that may have been the 351 Windsor[?]. If I recall the Cleveland's came with a 4-bbl; that was Ford's HO motor.
So that's 2 thumbs up on the movie? It's on my movie list too...

You may be right on the motor being a Windsor. It was definitely not HO. It was just a fading memory until I saw this post. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

All of his films are good IMO. His dramas are simply riveting! Nothing less then top notch acting.
