Relays
#1

Over the past month I have had a couple of relays "kinda" go out - I say kinda as something stops working and then I remove and reinsert the relay or jiggle it or just push on it with a "gawd I hope this is it" mantra and then things seem to work.

My last two were my heater fan stoped working - pulling and reinserting the relay fixed it. And then yesterday my tiptronic went out and I was stuck in 2nd - just giving the relay a good push seemed to "reconnect" it.

So I am wondering...........

What relays do you carry besides the proverbial extra DME?

Have you found them to just jiggle loose over time?

seems they are subject to issues for sure - on the paso robles run, the one that runs the dash panel quit on one of the cars in the group - car ran, but no instruments - jiggle and wiggle and good to go

perhaps a general contact cleaning is in order as a periodic PM step - having lived with british cars for 3 decades, and the dreaded lucas systems, i'm used to it, but it seems this car needs it too
