Air Bag Fault
#1

Folks: The Air Bag light is on in my 95 968 Cab. I am about to use my Durametric for the first time. Before doing so I did an internet search on the problem. Apparently the seat buckle is frequently the issue as it is connectec to the Air Bag system. But, I am not aware that is the case with our 968 cars as they may not  have a seat belt buckle connected to the Air Bag system. Before I jump into this, can someone confirm whether or not the seat buckle in our 968's are connected to the Air Bag system?

Thanks in advance to all that respond.

Get the software working on your computer (laptops work best) being careful to use the correct version of windows (that was the hardest part) and not "bricking" it.

Plug in the connector to your 968 with a round adapter if/as necessary. Run the diagnostics and reset the airbag light. That'll either work or it won't. The last time we used it for this, it worked just fine. If it doesn't work for you, maybe then worry about the seat belts on your 968?

If you connect to the car with the 19 pins connector you will see the faultcode. Mostly the batteryvoltage is the problem. So after a reset the system is up and running again and you do not have any big red ! More.

Thanks for the replies. I connected my laptop and the Durametric connected to the engine module, but could not 'see' the airbag module. I have no idea what the problem is. I will reach out to Durametric this week. Hopefully they have some solutions.

Are you using Durametric 6 ?  I am and can definitely see the airbag and reset the fault code ....  in my case the fault came back on until I found someone had linked into the airbag power line!!
