Active aero?
#1

There is a new company with a very interesting product coming out. Check out the site http://aeromotions.com/

Essentially they have a split wing that actively changes pitch based on a computer brain with GPS and accelerometers. You get a spoiler without the drag penalty. in the corners the spoiler will increase downforce on the side that needs it, flattening out as you get on the straight. As you brake they pop up to add additional downforce and maximum drag.

Essentially the holy grail. interesting enough most pro series have banned this kind of stuff.

They are looking at the rules for series like PCA and are coming up with a pin solution to satisfy them. Where it isn't banned though.... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

One other thing: when I contacted them, I found out the owner has a 968. Lets work them over and see if we can get them to do a Turbo RS aerowing!

Well, their website is not working particularly well right now, but stay on it. The video is well worth watching. Think a cross between a Jet Strike Fighter and a BMW club racer. Really nifty.

lol - now if i could only find a place where i could drive fast enough to use it

rules are going to be a problem for sure - that is what prevents very effective things like belly pans from being used - internal aerodynamic devices can usually be gotten away with, but often get complicated, and are occasionally protested

this is why i am going to do a cab though - none of that nasty drag problem - no windshield, no roof, no drag - downforce will be easy
