I recently discovered at the skidpad that my car's ABS doesn't work, when braking you can hear the hydraulic motor running and feel the vibration on the brake pedal, but it just locks the wheels. The warning light didn't went off and when I connected the system tester it didn't recieve a signal from the ABS.

Is this two diffrent problems or are they related? Or is the latter just a loose connection?

the sensors are known to get gunked up - they might be the issue

i presume your tires are the correct diameters all around, and that the fuses and relays are intact and operating

Thanks for the reply, there is diffrence between the front and rear tires, front: 235/40 R18, rear: 285/30 R18. I didn't want to believe that this could be the problem, because new rims and tyres are fairly very expensive. The workshop manual states that the ABS will switch automatically off, if the diffrence in rolling radius exceeds a certain amount. What is the certian amount? Yes the fuses and relays are operating.
