Coils don't last
#1

So I chased a stumbling issue early this year and in July finally realized it was the Nology coil.  Put an old stock coil in and ran great again...for a few weeks.  Then the issue started again.  This time it was a bad book on one of the Nology plug wires leaking spark to the head.  Put the old stock plug wires on and good again.

Now I came back from being away for the week, and have a terrible low RPM stumble and hard starting.  Replaced the coil with a new Accel Super Stock I had and runs much better.  Still not perfect though.

So, is there something going on that's causing the coils to die?  And is the Super Stock (12v) an acceptable coil for this system or should I get a new OEM one?

Thanks,

Alex

going with OEM parts is always a safe bet . there may be a few ( allegedly ) better after- market components / parts out there but I'm starting to doubt just how much better they really are .. after-market oil filters, plug wires, HCVs, maybe be ok and even that's debatable but when it comes to other electrical or mechanical parts, you may be taking a chance with non OE stuff. Just my $ 0.02 .
