A Returning Member (of sorts)
#1

Hello all,

Perhaps this sub-forum is moderated, but I don't see my first post so I'll post again assuming I did something wrong. If they both appear, my sincere apologies. At my membership level I can't see much (not even my own profile) so I'm flying a bit blind.

I'm the proud past owner of a '78 924 and an 87.5 944S and my "next car" has always been a 968. I've been searching for one and aligning finances and my wife's acceptance level until now, and I'm ready to pull the trigger.

I have it narrowed down to a few different cars and I've been lurking the list again (having joined long ago) for PPI and technical specs.

I hope to join you as a contributing member soon.

yes, this area is moderated, just to make sure it isn't a spammer - it's sort of the "doorman" to the site for new members - no other area requires approval before the post becomes visible

welcome!!! enjoy

Logical choice.

The 924 is a great car to toss around but low on power. The 44 is a great car all around. Some say it looks dated but i still love them. The 68 however has a timeless design. It's also pretty rare as Porsche's go, I see maybe 5 a year tops. I think you'll quickly appreciated the refinements over the 944.

So what are you looking for, Coupe or Cab?

Hey Rhude, if you ever made it to a gathering, you'd get to see 30-40 at once...don't forget "Takin' it to the Street" Newtown, PA May20-22...

Shameless plug,

I'd prefer a Cab, and the wish-list goes on from there, M030, 220, spoiler, but the must-have list only has two items:

- Great condition for mileage.

- Tolerable color.

Saratoga Springs, NY -> Newton, PA: 235 miles, 4.2 hours

No such thing as a Cab with Factory M030 (though they have been rumored, like unicorns)...but there are plenty of aftermarket suspension options that will fulfill your handling needs.

Welcome,

You should know enough to make a decision based on your other cars. The S and the 968 are not that far removed. You will love the cab though...and the additional torque over the S.

@94 yes I realize some of my items are mutually exclusive but that's part of the fun of being in search mode!

Good to see you here, welcome to the Forum. Pay attention to Flash, Silvercab, Rhudeboye, and Ryan. They've "been there, done that" and can save you the trouble of re-inventing the wheel.

Have fun!
