Mustanghusker and I met at a local drive in, Keller's on Northwest Highway in Dallas, that is known for having a wide variety of auto enthusiasts on the weekend. We parked our 968's along side each other and as the afternoon progressed we had people come by to admire an comment. They generally were unaware of the cars but were blown away by the beauty. Two brothers came over one of whom arrived in a 2011 Shelby Cobra (blown) and the other in a new Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition. They loved the 968s and wanted to know more about them. Then, a man drove from across the highway to the drive in to show the 968s to his dad. He actually knew how unusual and rare they were and was familiar with their legendary handling.



Just another argument in support of preserving and promoting these fantastic cars. Makes one proud to be an owner!

last year, a person guess the year of my car to be a 2007 model. I've heard dates in the 2000s quite often but i believe, that was the latest.

Had a connecting flight in the "United State of Texas" (DFW) on my way back from Brazil last week. I had been in Miami and New Orleans (lots of connecting flights when you use the "award ticket" reward) but things sure are "different" in Texas! Not in a "bad" way, just "larger than life" and with an immense degree of "confidence". I was amazed at how green things looked around DFW. I'll have to make a "proper" visit someday... (we have a "sister" plant in Waco).

I'm located in Houston, and wouldn't mind joining in one of the gatherings if it's near Dallas. I don't recall there being many 968's in Houston, but I could be wrong.

@egebhard - would love to see a gathering of OK and North Texas 968's. We can find something centrally located or perhaps we should begin to plan a get together at Porsche Palooza in Eureka Springs. It is going to be be a national Porsche event this year..

Just jumped on the boards for the first time in a whlie and saw this. Rob and I had a great time at Keller's and the attention certainly does make you appreciate these cars even more. Of course, the cleanliness of Rob's made me a little jealous too. We will do it again someday and perhaps get a few other 968s to join the mix.
