WTB: 968 CS Sport Seats
#1

Looking for a pair of the 968 CS hardback sport seats - made for Porsche by Recaro, nearly identical to Recaro's Pole Position seat.

Cover material and cover condition not important. Color not important. Prefer overall good condition or better, but since these are rare, all will be considered!

Willing to pay fair price- don't want to be gouged and don't intend to low-ball.

If anyone knows of a set for sale, please let me know!

I doubt that I will fit in them, but if I can get a pair, I won't be able to pass them up!!!! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Thanks in advance!

Jim

Best of luck. Don't forget to get the mounting hardware (e.g. side mounts) with the seats as those parts are also quite expensive. Please let us know if you're successful.

As an aside... the link below claims that "the original CS seats were a RECARO SP-G seat modified to a Porsche spec." SP-G (or SPG) seats typically list for $800/each in the US (original CS seats will likely be more expensive). SPG XLs (for those of us requiring a bit more room) are about $900/each and Pole Positions are about $650/each. Those prices do not including the mounting hardware.

Karl.

Just buy the Recaro's and paint the buckets speed yellow.

Karl-

I believe that information on the linked website to be incorrect. Comparing the SP-G to the 968CS seat pictures and then comparing the PP to 968CS seat pictures indicates to me that the CS seats were in fact based on the PP platform. I could be wrong, but I'm sticking to my story!!

Pat-

Unfortunately, I need the molded-in ribs on the back of the shell (ribbed, but for my pleasure in this case!!!!!). Nothing but the real deal will suffice. I'm pretty stupid like that! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/unsure.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Incredible! Seems like not too long ago we were reading words something like "I found my dream car". Since then, though, it's been more along the lines of the steering wheel has to go, the shift lever must be changed, what should I do about the rear window, don't like the e-brake handle, it has my favorite wheels but I'm looking at others, and now I have to do something about the seats.

I'm starting to understand your wife's perspective. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/happy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
