Many of you know I fielded a team with a 944 in the Reno edition of the 24 Hours of LeMons last year, and had a blast.
We had such a good time, we encouraged the organizer to bring the series to Colorado. Well, he did. It'll be at the brand-new High Plains Raceway (www.highplainsraceway.com), east of Denver, on July 10th and 11th. Being in my backyard (sort of), being an instructor on that track, and a tad strange, I couldn't resist. I have put together a multi-car effort this year (providing they're all accepted).
We are already fully stocked with drivers for all cars (that took about 30 seconds to fill 28 slots!), but if anyone would like to be part of this true spectacle, I'm seeking crewmembers who can either turn a wrench, pound out a fender, man a radio, count laps, assist drivers, fetch water/fuel/whatever, and just plain want to have fun.
If you're interested in joining this wacky effort, let me know, and I can share more details. Would be fun to have some 968ers on board! I can best characterize the event as part endurance race, part burning man.
Some of my photos from last year's effort (the 944 Woody Station Wagon) can be found here: http://picasaweb.google.com/lennonphoto/2009LeMons#
PM me if you're interested!
