968 captive in the garage
#1

having the driveway redone / being changed from concrete to natural stone, and it will take about three weeks to complete ( according to the contractor...which probably means four to five weeks.. )

why so long you ask ? we're on a very steep incline and there's a lot of engineering and insane amount of work that goes into it, but I digress... anyway, I' ll be keeping the 968 in the garage all this time and wonder if I should maybe idle the engine for about 10 minutes every few days just to keep things charged up, moving parts moving, etc.. or does it make any difference ??

any suggestions ?

Hi Dan,

Even in the cold climes of Pennsylvania Winter I let my car sit for as long as 3 weeks without starting. I would suggest anything longer than that, you might want a battery tender just to keep all systems charged. I'm not a huge fan if starting a car and idling it...

Why don't you drive it down to Flash's garage for storage, you never know what goodies he may just "need" to bolt on, fix, adjust, clean, polish, oil, test...

Regards,

Jay

400 miles + is a bit of a stretch just for storage, but had I needed any mods, the idea would have worked well

besides, flash is MIA ( I'm surprised no one started a thread given the conspicuous lack of posts from him ) -blame it on the house remodeling project I suppose.. if I show up I'd only add to the contractors that

have probably taken residence there and i'm sure Bob has about all he can take of that right now

I did notice the lack of Flash myself. Especially noticeable was the suspension question the other day w/o Flash chiming in. Weird.

Id luv to see before after pics of the drive way.
