944 vs 968 up keep
#41

The local dismantler, in Phoenix, hasn't had a "new" 968 in several years, not finding them at affordable prices.  The couple hes has are getting pretty stripped out. (44 owners are buying 968 parts to upgrade their cars (rear hatches, etc).

I will agree with Jay. At least half of all production year NA 968's are still on the road today.....yet we don't know and will probably never find out what the right number is.

First let me say that amethyst is an amazing color.

I think most vintage Porsche owners tend to take better care of their cars because they treat them like classics.

Those of us who own a 968 appreciate how special and rare these cars are.  I personally like driving a car not many people really know about.

I had someone stop at my house last summer thinking I had modified a 928.  This was a Porsche guy who had never seen one before.

My other Porsche is a 1961 notchback 356, which also is a very rare Porsche,

In 1961 Porsche sent a thousand cabriolets to Karmann and had special tops made which were welded onto these open cars turning them into "sport coupes"

Even many well versed Porsche folks do not know about some of these rare Porsche models.  Eventually the cream will rise to the top.
