968 People are the best and friendliest !
#1

I had the good fortune of meeting Kim Strong when we held the 968 Celebration in Newtown 2 years ago. He drove all the way from Halifax (some 1,100 Miles) to meet with a great group of 968 enthusiasts. The depth and breadth of friendships that form in these face to face meetings build through this little corner of the internet we call 968Forums and translate into true friendships that last and, in the best cases, give us a chance to get to know more than the cars.

My wife and I were in Nova Scotia last weekend on a cruise (QM2) and we had the opportuntiy to visit with Kim and see his white coupe. We met and had a wonderful lunch, a good time was had by all. Thanks to Kim for taking time from his busy schedule and for showing us true Canadian hospitality. We had a great visit and a terrific day.

Regards,

Jay

Jay - you are too kind. I also had a great time. It is always nice to see friends that live far away. It represents an opportunity of which one should always avail themselves.

TargaNewfoundland is a fabulous event and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys performance driving. There is nothing else like it, at least not on this continent. I previously ran my BoxsterS in the event in 2004 and am planning a return in 2008 in a 968. [I reside in South America so my return trip is a little more complicated than most.] Unlike DE and PCA racing where you run track sessions with long breaks in between, in Targa you basically live in your car for a week, often with only minutes between transit and competition stages. If you miss a turn you could end up on someone's front yard, with the owners watching you while sitting on their front porch!! The people are great, the scenery is beautiful and the driving spectacular. Any other 968's interested?

You ought to watch it on TV first. Some of the drivers are nuts and the spectators literally are in their backyards and you are about 10 feet from them. Was just on TV here and a few guys went into the ocean or into the bushes. Not for my car, me buys.
