Received my 9 mag yesterday and was pleasantly surprised, there was Flash's car on the cover with 2 left coast hotties hang all over it. Look inside and more Flash and the very knowledgable Dave "the oilman" Greinman with in depth articles on fluids and 968 stuff. Congrats for some interesting reading and pictures. My only wish were that the pictures were glossy but I know that is more money and who wants to see bikini clad girls hanging all over a 968 in more detail anyway. It's all about the car. I am really envious of the seats in Flash's car.

lol - yah - the glossy thing has been a goal, but a difficult one - yes, it's all about cost - the magazine has really been in trouble - it will be a couple of issues before we can get back to that - crawl, walk, run

glad you liked it though - also very happy it's finally getting out there

got my issue yesterday. very nice.

well done ! ( long wait for it, but all's well that ends well )

less expensive remedy to lack of glossy pages/photos : put another coat of wax on the car, and gently rub body oil all over the two bikini models.

Flash, a couple of questions on the interior remake. Did you do the switch changes or did you have it done? It is not to slight your wrenching ability but to determine if it's a DIY project. The new arrangement is very logical. I assume it was much easier with the car separated for painting. Also what was the cost of the new Recaro seats with the new leather. An estimate is okay as you may not want to tell any California seat thieves the exact amount. I have the same interior and have been contemplating the Recaros. Thanks again for the articles. Anyone get the January Pano, comparing the Cayman S with the 968? Just not sure if I really like this car versus the 968. With the chip, B&B, Air Box Mod maybe I could keep up with the Cayman. Then again starting with 295HP is a much better starting point than 236. Sorry for rambling on, looking at 7" of snow outside.

i did it myself - took about 4 hours, and cost about 50 bucks - not a difficult thing, as long as your hands are nimble, you are patient, and you are willing to cut your factory wiring

california retail pricing on the seats was about 3500 by the time everything got to me - the two tone layout, with the porsche perforated cashmere leather insets was extra - they don't offer that in their line - i had to purchase and send them the leather, and the brackets were about 250 - so, all together, i think i remember that it was about 3500

I guess whatever subscription I had to 9 is toast, so it sounds like it's time to step up to the plate again. Well done, nice to see some positive comments.

don't know - may not be toast though

brian sent a letter out to all the subscribers (or so i was told) saying that he was extending subscriptions 3 issues, to make up for the fact that, due to the hiatus, he was only going to put out 3 issues in 2005

depending on when you subscribed, you may still be owed issues

i don't have any involvement with the subscription fulfillment, but if you (or anybody else out there)find that you are still owed issues, you can send a letter to editor@9magazine.com and it can get straightened out

Flash, thanks for the information. I will keep this issue of 9 Mag around for inspiration and contemplation (bikini models). I assume that's $3500 per seat?

Well, almost 7 weeks have passed since the last copy of 9 magazine arrived.

Anyone received another one since?

The web site shows the 4th annual Boxter issue with stories on the Caymen S.

"the next issue is a couple of weeks behind it - we are working on the following one now, and should have it done any day, and then off to the printer" posted Feb 8.

???

anything interesting inside?

latest copy of Excellence wasn't as interesting to me as the prev one. . . I'm going to be getting Panorama soon, so maybe I'll go for 9-mag instead of Excellence. . . can't see myself getting *three* Pcar rags. . .
