9 Magazine Non Performance
#1

I was very pleased when I discovered that there was a magazine devoted to Porsche automobiles available on our Forum site, I was in!

The fact that 9 magazine is a sponsor was a welcome plus.

I logged onto the web site from our forum and subscribed for 6 hardcopy issues to be mailed to my office.

That was on 8/4/2005.

I have NEVER received an issue. I paid for and received an electronic issue, but that is all.

I have send three e-mails to the magazine in the last month and have not had a reply.

Is anyone else having delivery issues?

Does anyone have a non-generic email address that I can contact?

i am awaiting the authorization to release the information on what has been going on with the magazine - there have been many changes, and they have been extremely slow in coming

i can't say any more right now - the moment i have the release from the publisher, i will let everyone know

my sincerest apologies, but this is completely out of my control

You have to figure a triple whammy when a magazine goes belly up. Subscribers, contributors and advertisers are all left holding the bag.

Perhaps they can transfer the subscriptions here to fill out the requirement:

that's funny

while i am not at liberty to discuss details, most of the subscribers have been sent a letter detailing some of the changes

the magazine is not shutting down at this time, but is restructuring - again, as soon as i am allowed, i will release the details

i can tell you there has been a change in ownership, the details of which are still not ready for release

i am peeling back my involvement to west coast activity and interest, as well as editing 968 stuff

also, i have been told that the 968 issue finally shipped

flash,

Thanks for the update. I sent e-mail to flash@9magazine.com but have never received a reply. I sent payment via PayPal, which was processed, but never received info on how to access the website. Is there any way to at least refund the PayPal payment while things are in limbo?

i probably got it, but have had to forward those on, as i am no longer the one fulfilling the pdf subscriptions - i was only doing that for a bit as a stop gap measure - that is now being handled by the publisher

i don't, and never have had, any control, or even access to, the paypal account

i would send a letter to editor@9magazine.com

I ordered and received a pdf copy of the latest edition online.

The magazine says that "Copper Star Media" has taken over publication, Brian Minson is back as Editorial Director for 2006. It further states that pdf subscribers will get the magazine 2 - 3 weeks before print subscribers and that you can convert your print subscription to a pdf subscription.

the details of the changes are not ready for release just yet, but there should be a formal release soon

brian is staying on as editorial director

i am staying on as west coast director, 968 tech editor, and will be doing some writing as well

it also seems that the print subscriptions are getting back out there - the 968 issue should be appearing in people's mailboxes now - the next issue is a couple of weeks behind it - we are working on the following one now, and should have it done any day, and then off to the printer

long hard climb, but it looks good at this point

a big thanks to everybody who hung in there

How do the Pcar mags compare Panorama - Excellence - 9Mag? As far as subject matter and interest to a 968er, I mean.

I got the recent Excellence, and it was . . . good . . . love the title and concept of course. . . nice magazine except I honestly am more interested in the off-the-beaten-path Pcars than the most recent cars. I suppose I'll be getting Panorama when I get my PCA membership so I'll be able to see for myself.

There are a few more out there also, there's a UK one right?

Excellence is a flashy well assembled ad driven mag, with a lot of advertiser paid review articles (not completely unusual, but the publisher does not like to do articles without ad space also sold) - it is focused on new cars, but often has nice stuff on older cars too

Pano is lately very full of ads, and a lot less content - it is PCA membership focused, which puts it on events and such more than the others - you will get this with your membership

9 is a small DIY magazine - its focus is more the owner/weekend mechanic, with a growing focus on weekend racers - it previously was focused heavily on 914s and earlier cars, but is now expanding, as is the DIY market into newer cars

911 and Porsce World is the uk mag - very well balanced, with a lot of really cool articles
