The Porsche magazine called "9 Magazine" has a cover story on LS1 engines in the 968 using conversion parts from Renegade Hybrids.

The magazine is free, must be ad supported.
The article clearly suggests advantages over the stock motor: more power, lower maintenance cost, more reliable. It also states lower weight which was a surprise for me, but it must be true. For one vote, I am not sure about reliability advantage, my 968 engine and whole car has been incredibly reliable - truly a daily driver, so i use it all the time. And I think conversions always run the risk of messing things up and then suffering reliability.
It also documents the 914-to-V8 conversion, which has always been a dream for me since I saw Renegade conversions in the late 80's. Wish I could fit into a 914, I owned one once for 1 day (a whole 'nother story).

Dang,
Flash, all, sorry about the link, it works on my PC. Maybe I subscribed some time ago and forgot, maybe the site has some cookie that lets me see it. Hmmm...
I can download the .PDF, but not sure that would be legit.
