I asked how much gas I had once the light goes on and a couple of the guys said no more than a gallon so I told them it was prudent that I limp back.
My gauge said an 1/8th tank when we left breakfast so I thought I would be OK. I should have known better.

no worries - better to be safe than sorry- i should have checked with everybody first - i really was lax on this year's prep, and usually do a better job of making sure everybody has important things like fuel, and my cell number in the event we get separated

Wine and dark cars (or dark bars or dark alleys for that matter) just go together. Glad you all had a good time.

Brian:

I honked at you Saturday morning around 8am as you were about to turn right onto 154 from Calle Real. I was in the grabber blue Boss 302 headed to the PCA breakfast (alternate vehicle month). Hope you had fun!

Re: the 7th annual SONOCal 968 Paso Robles wine and shine run;

Dan, Chris, awesome trip Sat. down 101 for us norCalers, about 2.5 hr! Thanks to Bob and Ann for all their great work putting the 7th annual SONOCal 968 Paso Robles wine and shine (welll .. mostly sunny after all) trip together! The earlier spring date was great and the fun run made the day Sunday. Stirling Moss and Juan Manual Fangio both claimed their best driving was done on dirt, so of course I was really disappointed when we turned around. IMHO a great fun run! I was not the only one with a grin on my face. I'll put up some of my pictures in a day or two - I got pictures at Breakfast Sunday morning.

Larry's "Limoncello story at Tobin J." will be remembered long after the two free bottles he gave the girls at our end of the bar - are dry. Brian, thanks for bringing the Scotch -how amazing ... there is a tooth faerie ... and the great talk Sat. night. You should put up the list of your single malts Chris, Dan n' me poured to wash down Dan's great cigars, like Dan said, probably double the attendance next year.

Melissa and I stayed over Sunday night and drove back today via Co HW 13 from King City over to HW 25 north, stopping at the Pinnacles park to check out a future destination visit. Dan, your right, 25 must now be kept a closely guarded secret! It is friggin' built for the 968, even with Melissa on board. It is very isolated in it's own valley, a farm and wilderness road, well paved. It was a breathtaking two hours of long and short sweeping turns, maybe two cars going the other way on a Monday. We had heavy rain with spots of sunshine and flowers everywhere like a 50 yr. bloom. The HW 25 loop took about 5 hr. back to Fawn lane with one stop in Hollister.

Bob, this evening we just enjoyed a bottle of Doce Robles Cab. Franc, good call, great trip. Thanks all!!

No kidding about the heavy downpour Chris, the drive back was pretty dicey. Heck if you had been a navy seal instead of a fighter pilot I would have felt even more comfortable with you as the wingman . Glad to see our cars made it without problem.. rain and my 944s electrical wiring never got along very well

What we really needed was an ex submariner. I was thinking that we should have Flash develop a snorkle and periscope to permit 968s to be driven in monsoonal rain.

One more note on the event - Bob or Ayn, would one of you guys please thank Lance again on our behalf for having the chef prepare those gourmet snacks, strictly for our group - that was an entirely unexpected gesture but certainly a much appreciated one ! They were delicious ! ( and I have a sense I speak on behalf of all of us on this matter .
