1995 changes?
#21

yeah - i've seen the window stickers both ways - at the time, i didn't give it a second thought, but now that it seems to be a thing to watch for, i'll start taking note

as to the trunk sticker on the 4 way, i think you over-read what i was saying - what i meant was the absence of an 8 way option code - the absence of such an option code would by default indicate 4 way - i did not say that there was a specific code for 4 way

as an example of something on the window sticker but not in the option code list, my car had deviating interior on the window sticker, but not on the build tag in the trunk - frankly i can't even find the option code for that

94 Midnight Metallic Blue Cab Porsche 968 w/deviating cashmere/black interior and WAY too many mods to list - thanks to eric for creating www.968forums.com

And here is a very rare VIS from a "last batch" 95 coupe without the 423 option. This would be like Richard's car and Jim's. Notice the 425 is still there.

Gothca, although the 4 way code does appear on the buildsheet but not on the VIS in the trunk.

Really?? I have many examples of deviating interior on the VIS. My old cab had option code 13941 which was the code for deviating carpet. All the deviating or special interior codes that I have seen are 5 digit numbers starting with 1 and are on the tag.

Thanks

i have an entire list of interior codes, which are an "X", "Y", or "Z" with characters after - i'll be posting that list pretty soon (if i haven't already)

what i don't have is 13941 on any of my lists - however, i do have it on my trunk sticker, so that at least says that it was not a dealer installed option - good to know

Hey, I taught you something for a change!!!! That made my day!!!! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I have the Y codes as well but they are for exclusive options like XD4 for the painted crests or XC9 for a dark wood shifter knob or I even have a XN8 for leather sunvisors!!! You'll always find the 09991 exclusive program code listed when you have one of those.

Keep in mind, deviating interior options (like 13941) are NOT part of the exclusive program. I have a few examples that have the interior option codes but no 09991.

lol - glad i could help

understood - there are somewhere about 100 of the lettered interior option codes on my list - it's a long list, so don't hold me to the number - i haven't counted them - they cover everything from deviating stitching to non-standard colors

what i am missing are the 5 digit codes - i have lots of 4 digit codes, but not 5 - as soon as i compile those, i'll post the entire list - i just haven't had time to go down to the dealer and pull them from the microfiche

That would be cool. I have collected 11 of those 5 digit codes and only have definitions for 5 of them.

Jeff,

I haven't checked this thread in awhile. I really learned a lot! As far as my build date, it's 5/94. It appears that it falls within the guidelines of everything discussed. Nothing special, other than the rarity of the car itself...

Thanks for the discussion!

My B pillars are Polar silver. I would have preferred the black.

Amen brother. They are not really 'rare' though, in the collector's sense. A couple hundred production cars (like Steve McQueen's Ferarri as a boundary example). But they are really cool. Best looking convertible that I have every seen, period. What Jeff has done for us is make the unique rare. One of the oldest, one of the newest, one with a special option. Even my run of the mill beater 93 is special - she had some odd ball speakers in the back that actually made Bob smile from ear to ear - I'll never forget that face.

I love these threads too and really appreciate what Jeff brings to us all. A chance at something special. If you look long enough hot you'll find something.

And to your point Gator I'll never be sorry cause I'll never sell this car, no way no how.

Hey that Tebow is something special BTW.

That is all correct for a 94.5+ Euro Spec Coupe. My car has color coded b pillars & 993 seats aswell. My car is a 718 series '95. Being U.S. spec it had bumperettes......but i replaced them with Euro Spec corners. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
