Very well sorted low mileage cab for sale.
Car is silver with chestnut brown top and interior. One of five cabs and six coupes with this interior.
Car was repainted silver by previous owner, (it was originally Polar White) with other service work totaling over $10K
- Engine was taken out for respray and it was hard to even find evidence it was done. All work was done at a Porsche garage. Previous service done and clutch was replaced at 30,000 miles. - Have receipts for work.
I bought the car several years ago (4/2013) from the widow of a friend who passed away. The car sat for 5 years in a garage with only 44K on the odo. I was told something broke and he parked the car.
After putting $4K into the car to get it running again, I found the pinion bearing was gone. Had transaxle completely rebuilt.
Since my purchase -
Fuel tank drained, cleaned, flushed - all fuel lines purged.
Clutch reservoir drained, cleaned, flushed, all lines purged
Brake reservoir drained, cleaned, flushed, all lines purged
New Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ tires
Euro Turn signal lenses - original bumperettes stored
Black emergency flasher switch swapped - original red switch stored
Brand new shift knob - $230 from Porsche Germany
Transaxle rebuilt - $2700
All top end maintenance done - Drive belt, tensioner, timing belt, coolant pump, fuel filter, new plugs, battery, DME relay, oil filter, v-belts changed.
Odometer gear rebuilt
Cam cover seals & Gasket
Design 1 strut tower, firewall & castor braces added
Fuel sender replaced
Pollen filters replaced
Engine bay light replaced
Accelerator and Cruise cables replaced
Fuel door stop replaced
All top end rubber radiator, water hoses, coolant hoses, and heater hoses replaced - $1184.00
Third brake light lamps replaced
Passenger door handle innards replaced
Voltage regulator replaced
Battery cables new - originals stored
New battery
Comes with Cogin bra, bought used - never installed
Comes with mini 968 in case
Comes with dealer poster framed
Comes with complete service history
Car now has under 50,000 miles on it. I find that it sits more than I drive it. I have over $15,000 invested in the car on top of what I paid for it. It is a beautiful car that does not want for anything. Car has had at least one or two oil changes since first one. Top works beautifully in full auto mode.
Car does have a few small minor flaws but they do not detract from car and could easily be fixed.
Car is insured with Hagerty for $25K cash value. I am asking for best offer over $20K
I would like to sell the car without having to resort to ebay. This is not a harship sale. If the offer is right, I might wiggle a bit, but not much.
You can buy a car cheap that needs everything and take a year to get it on the road, or you can buy a car that needs little and drive it now. All the hard work has been done.
I also have a 1966 Beetle, a 1980 CJ7 with over $12K invested and a 2004 Harley Fatboy with under 15K miles for sale.
