#1

No spacers needed which saved some bucks. Mounted 235/40 x 18 ES100 Yoko's on the front and 265/35 x 18 ES100s on the rear. The wheels are BBS LM1 Competition (Replicas)

Always liked the split spoke design, they look good! . Do you have a closeup photo? What are the offsets? Is there a center cap? What are all the white spots floating around in the air?

Thanks Greimann! Fronts are 8.5" with 52mm offset and rears are 10" with 48mm offset. I wanted to stuff 275 or 285's under the back - with the 48 offset the math did not look good. Pics here are before I removed the mold release on tires. I need to get a camera with macro so I post good pics. As for the white stuff - should have seen it five minutes after I took the pics today.

Missed one answer - center caps are on the car on rear. They are black with gold crest. They would not work on the front. Caps with the wheels would not clear the dust covers on spindles. I will have to machine the caps and engineer different retention method for them.

James Taylor - good tire size choice. As you know from our email exchanges, you probably saved yourself some serious aggravation by going with the 265 in the rear. I have the Yoko AVS ES-100 with 275 in the rear on a 18x10 with 47 offset. Eliminating tire/fender interference was no small challenge. How do these look on the car?

Anchorman - I did go ahead and remove the fastener you referenced too. Even with the 265's I think contact would have been made at that point. If I gain access to the right mill for about 30 minuts, 285s will go on the next time. Figure about 3 to 4mm off mounting surface will be perfect for 285s. Yahoo!

This ride just gets more fun by the minute!

JT - I had given thought to milling some of the wheel mounting surface to effectively change the offset. Two things stopped me - I wasn't confident that the machinery to which I had access would do the job without ending up with an wobbly wheel, and I was a little concerned that the thinner wheel center could end up being a weak point at a critical time (such as a high speed curve during a Driver's Education event).

Thanks for letting me know you removed the fastener. I'm glad my experience made yours easier.

Jim, how did you overcome the tire/fender interference? Do you think a 50mm offset with Yoko 275s and a .5 inch lowered car would work? Thanks.

My judgment is that with the slightly greater offset than I have (your 50 vs my 47), and with the same size tire (275/35), you'll be OK - IF your rear suspension is reasonably fresh (meaning reasonably firm) AND if you remove the metal clip that holds the trailing edge of the plastic fender protector. If you leave those clips in place, you're likely to have a problem.

Is your car lowered by the eccentric bolts in the rear also?

I've got Koni sports in the rear set pretty stiff so I hope to have no problems but mine is lowered all the way down.
