100k to spend?
#1

Saw this over on the Rennlist forums.....If you had 100k to spend on a car/collection of cars what you buy? Dreaming is always fun.....

993 TT (black over tan)

MB G500 daily driver (black over tan)

...of course that would be on top of the 968 (black over tan) that i already own.

968 turbo coupe

RX7 Gen3

older ferrari convertible (don't really know my options here)

American musclecar of some kind, 60's 'Stang, Camaro or GTO, maybe a Vette convertible

BMW 740 from mid-90's for a family car.

I think that's a pretty good spread of countries, styles, car types. I'm also probably closer to 150K at that point, huh?

fun thread!

lol - nah - rebuilding my collection - i miss my old one - sold them when i moved to l.a. and had no space - not selling this one

starting on an aluminum body cobra replica with a late cobra 4 cam drivetrain, next summer with my dad, at the ranch where we have the space

my next car may be a beck - always liked the 550 - easy to race too - and cheap

also, i forgot about the Z8 in my list

I'd like a 968 Turbo S, with 968 CS hard-backed sport seats.

or

A 993 ROW RS

or

An e46 M3 CSL

or

A used Ford GT

or

A Yenko Camaro

or

A Boss 429 (but a 302 or '69 MachI would suffice, Grabber Blue please)

and

I like the Infinity G35 coupe- possibly decked out in some Nissmo perf if available. This would be my daily driver of course.

I would buy this 964 RS America for $45k...

18k Black on Black RS

this Lotus Elise for $45k...

2005 Elise

and this amazingly ugly BMW R1159R for $9995

Yellow Jacket

These would of course join the Volvo S60 T5, the Jetta 1.8T, the 968, and the 96 F150 4x4. I guess I could just pave the back yard and put up a big metal garage.

OK, maybe not that particular Firebird, but A Firebird...

Also, if we're just talking collection I would gladly forgo the Fleetwood and disqualify the Volvo Wagon for RPM's Elise above <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

There was a 1997 993 Turbo S in Guards Red on Black sitting on consignment at a Mercedes Benz Dealership for around $115,000.

I watched the car and expressed interet. After it sat for 2 months the Salesman called and offered the car to me at $95,000.

At the time, I was holding out for another car and passed on the 97 Turbo S. The other car never became available. Du-oh.

So $100K and that particular deal would be the dream set-up for me.

The extra $5,000 would have gone to Intercity Lines transportation and the one or two available factory carbon fiber options.

PS: Flash has great taste in cars!!!
